Winner of the State of Texas Small Business Award for Best Practices: Business Skills

Teri has over 33 years experience in many facets of the certified public accounting field.

Teri’s experience includes the performance and supervision of audits for credit unions, hospitals, nonprofit organizations (including Single Audits), consulting firms, for profit entities and entities receiving government funding.  She has been very active in performing management advisory services including due diligence projects on purchases and sales of businesses, complex analyses of business operations, expert witness of financial matters for business lawsuits, negotiations with banking and government authorities, investment analysis, and reorganization of companies for estate and asset protection.

Significant projects for the past two years include:

  • Computations of estimated fair market values of businesses ranging from $5M-$20M.
  • Supervisor of the $400M accounts receivable project with the City of San Antonio.
  • Expert witness for a $50M lawsuit between business owners.
  • Expert witness for a dispute between lessor and lessee.
  • Reviewer of due diligence projects for the City Public Service Pension Plan.
  • Consulting services for real estate developers with assets in excess of $100M.
  • Supervisor of business audits of companies with revenues in excess of $10M.
  • Supervisor of nonprofit audit with revenue in excess of $12.5M.
  • Supervisor of private school audit with revenue in excess of $1.5M.
  • Supervisor and reviewer of financial statement compilations, reviews and audits.

Teri graduated from MacMurray College, Jacksonville, Illinois, with a double major in Accounting and Business Management.  She is a certified public accountant.  She continues to receive annual training in various facets of accounting and financial matters.

Teri is very active in the community.  She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Alamo City Black Chamber of Commerce where she has served as Treasurer and Chair of the Organization.  She was also a board member for over five years with the Community Development Loan Fund serving both as Treasurer and Chair of the organization.  She has also been a member of the Big Brothers & Sisters network and Business Network International.  She is also a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.

 Jorge Arroyo

Professional Staff

Jorge joined the firm in November 2013 as an accounting intern.  He graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a double major in Accounting and Finance in May 2015 .  Before joining the firm, Jorge served 20 years in the US Army, retiring in 2012 out of Fort Hood, TX.  He believes the values instilled in him during his 20 years of service will benefit him greatly as he begins his new career.  Jorge plans on pursuing a Master's degree in Accounting and earning the CPA designation in the near future.

Brenda Duarte

Professional Staff

Brenda worked for a Spanish speaking company in San Antonio for 8 years assisting the accountant with bookkeeping services.  She began as a tax intern at Britts & Associates, LLP in January 2014 and became part of the staff in January 2015.  She has experience working on individual and corporate tax returns, as well as preparing individual and corporate financial statements. 

She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in December 2014 receiving a BBA with an emphasis in Accounting.  She plans to continue school and sit for the CPA certification 

Teresa Fendley

Lead Bookkeeper

Teresa Fendley joined the firm in December of 2007 as the Administrative Assistant. Her background is in healthcare.  She has spent many years as a medical transcriptionist/medical biller/administrative assistant in various medical office/clinic settings. Teresa moved to the Bookkeeping Department in May of 2009, where she assists clients with bookkeeping, payroll and payroll tax reports, and compiles periodic financial statements. She also monitors and maintains the firm’s computer network.


May Feng


May joined the firm in May of 2015.  She provides accounting services for both profit and not for profit organizations.  She has extensive experience across diverse industries.  Her career has included both staff auditing in a CPA firm and accounting in the private sector.  

She holds a California CPA license and a BBA in Accounting from San Francisco State University.She continues to receive professional training in accounting, auditing, and taxation.

Leah Galarza

Professional Staff

Leah joined the team in July 2013 as an Accounting Intern. During the summer of 2013, she graduated with honors from the University of Texas at San Antonio and earned a BBA in Accounting. She was a recipient of the Felix and Elizabeth McKinney Distinguished Scholarship, and winner of the 2013 Ethics in Business Award from the Ecumenical Center for Religion and Health.

In her early career, Leah worked in banking for eight years. Her varied experiences included working with chargebacks, loans, leases, loan documentation, business banking and general operations within a large national bank.

Currently, Leah is pursuing the Master's degree program in Accounting at her alma mater. Once she reaches the required education hours, she plans to sit for the CPA certification.

Administrative Assistant

Carolina began her career with Britts & Associates, L.L.P. in February 2013. She received her Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a focus in International Relations from Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas. She has previously served in operations support for a building products company and in administration/sales for a bookstore. She is bilingual (English/Spanish).




Sandra K. Rodriguez

BBA in Accounting - Audit Manager

Sandra has over 27 years of experience in both public and private sector accounting. She joined the firm in September 2012, and throughout her career, she has performed a wide variety of services, business analysis, and tax returns, including audits for profit, governmental and non-profit organizations, and bookkeeping services for small for-profit companies.

Sandra earned her B.B.A. undergraduate degree in accounting from St. Mary’s University at San Antonio. Prior to joining the firm, Sandra’s career included Accounting Representative in the private sector and Internal Auditor in the governmental sector.

She is currently working towards obtaining her CPA certification at this time. Her education and experience give Sandra a broad and diverse background which enhances her capabilities to provide assistance to clients in a variety of areas.




Gladys Sanchez

BBA in Accounting

Gladys began her career through various positions with nonprofit groups, providing each with payroll services, assisting with financial reports, and annual budgets.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas at San Antonio. She plans to return for her Master’s in Accountancy and sit for the CPA certification.


Through her proficiency in bookkeeping and tax, Gladys provides services in tax preparation for individual, corporations, partnerships,  and nonprofit entities. She also prepares, compiles, and reviews financial statements.



Monica Swenson

MBA in Finance


Monica has over 28 years of experience in accounting and finance.  She joined the firm in February 2007 and has performed a wide variety of services, business analysis, and tax returns, including services for profit and non-profit organizations and individuals.

Monica earned her B.S.B.A. undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.  Prior to joining the firm, Monica’s career included Internal Auditor, Financial Planning Manager and Controller in the private sector.


She received her MBA in finance from the University of Texas at San Antonio during this time. Her education and experience give Monica a broad and diverse background that enhances her capabilities to provide assistance to clients in a variety of areas.

Project Manager

Carol has been with the firm since October 2009, and has over 20 years' experience in the legal field. Before transitioning into the legal field, her early professional years were spent in the employ of the local NBC affiliate television station (WOAI-TV4) in their News Department, as well as their Programming Department, an advertising agency, and a television commercial/animation production company. She previously served as Vice President of Finance for WE LEAD (Women Executives Leading Empowering And Developing), which is the local chapter of NAFE (National Association for Female Executives). While utilizing her expertise in customer service, Carol is now performing billing, collections, and project manager duties for the firm.
